"Building Lake Redstone" Documentary Screening

Sat, Jun 7, 11:00am - 1:00pm

"Building Lake Redstone" continues the story started in the documentary "Big Creek Rising", chronicling the efforts of Lake Builder N.E. "Ike" Isaacson to dam Big Creek and transform the Cobleigh Valley near Lavalle into Lake Redstone.

Starting in September 1964, the Lake Redstone Development Corporation removed 10,000 trees, rerouted numerous roads and used 500,000 cubic yards of clay loam to build the Dam. Many never-before-seen archival photos and documents, combined with modern interviews, help tell the tale of the ambitious project that involved building the lake, designing a lakefront community and the advertisement and sale of those properties to prospective buyers.
